at Little Stars Early Learning Academy we strive to create a
program that is personal, stimulating and economical. Not only
do we want to create a relationship with your child we want to
get to know you!
For your convenience All Star Dance will also be offering an
adult barre class on Wednesdays from 10am to 11am. The class
will be an integration of barre aerobics and strengthening, plus
yoga. This provides an easy and convenient way for busy parents
of Little Stars to get their workout!
What are the differences between this program and a traditional
Most preschools are either play based or follow an academic
curriculum. While we believe strongly in the value of play and
therefore include it as a vital part of our program, we also
realize that you should be getting more for your money than
something your child could be doing at home with friends on a
play date. As for the academic curriculum, we do not believe in
pressuring or hurrying children to learn academics on any sort
of timetable. We provide stimulating and educational toys and
activities, and they do the rest.
Children receive dance and gymnastic instruction from a
professional instructor in a fully equipped facility, not a
carpeted classroom with desks pushed aside. Our Music Together
teacher has been certified in Music Together, which is a
research based, developmentally appropriate early childhood
music program. In addition to providing stimulating arts,
crafts, and science experiments, we also provide a performance
opportunity for the children at the end of each session. This
performance is for their families in the comfort of our
facility, which builds confidence, promotes positive
self-esteem, builds public speaking skills, and makes for some
memorable home videos!
Little Stars only runs two days a week for 3 hours each day.
Most preschools offer more days and hours than this, but we feel
that children should be spending most of their time outside of
the classroom, experiencing the world and interacting with
people of all ages.
Unlike many preschools we have a class capacity of only 8
Most preschools require parents to drop their children off and
leave, and the separation anxiety (and tears) that some children
and parents feel is unavoidable. Here at Little Stars we
recognize that some families may prefer to drop their children
off, while others may prefer to stay. We allow parents to stay
as long as they would like and either observe from the lobby or
volunteer in the classroom. It is very true that some children
do better when their parents are not around, but we trust you as
the parent to make that decision.
How can the parents be involved?
Parents are encouraged but not required to participate in the
Music Together class held on Wednesdays from 9 – 9:45am. If you
would like to volunteer during the dance class and/or classroom
time please notify our teachers and they will set that up for
We love to have parents share their culture or careers with our
students. If you have something special to present or share with
our class, please let us know and we would be happy to set that
up as well.
How do I schedule a tour?
Please contact All Star Dance by phone or email to schedule a
tour, or visit us during one of our Open Houses. If you visit
without scheduling a tour you will not be able to see the
classroom, as we only set it up for classes or tours.
How do I register and/or reserve my spot?
Please fill out the registration form online with a form of
payment for the registration fee and the first month’s tuition
and scan and email, mail, or drop it off at the studio. Spots
are held on a first come first serve basis.
How long is each session?
Please see our calendar for more details.
What about Holidays?
When a holiday falls on a Monday (MLK day, Memorial day) we hold
a make-up class on the following Friday.
We are closed for one week in November for Thanksgiving, two
weeks in December for winter break, and one week in April for
Spring break, but these closures are not part of the 12 weeks.
Do you interview parents/children?
No we do not interview parents or children, but ask that you
schedule a tour so we can get to know you!
Is there a wait list?
We have a class capacity of 8 children for the Little Stars
Early Learning Academy. Once those 8 slots have been filled we
do start a wait list.
Does my child need to be potty trained?
When is the enrollment period?
If a slot is available you may enroll at any time. Tuition will
be adjusted accordingly.
Pre-enrollment will happen one month before the end of each
session where currently enrolled families will have priority
registration for the following session. Enrollment for the
following session will open up the public three weeks before the
current session has ended. Any empty slots at that time will
then be filled on a first come first serve basis, starting with
the waiting list.
Do you prorate for missed days and/or offer make up classes?
If your child is sick and misses class we offer one make up
class per session in any one of our dance classes that is age
Are deposits, registration fees and/or tuition refundable?
Can I hold my place in the program and return at a later date?
If you choose to leave the program for a session, then you
relinquish your spot to be filled by the person at the top of
the waitlist. You may resubmit your registration form during the
enrollment period before a new session begins, and if there is a
spot you will be welcomed, or you will be added to the waitlist.
What is the teacher to student ratio?
We have a maximum of 8 children per teacher in the classroom.
Dance and Music classes may have a maximum of 12 children with
Will there be any field trips?
No, we will not be sacrificing any class time for field trips.
However, we will be inviting a variety of community members to
visit our classroom (firefighters, police officers, etc.).
What measures have you taken to ensure the safety of my child?
Due to our very small class size teachers
are easily able to monitor all of the children. Students may
only be picked up by a parent or authorized adult.
As part of our dance class Little Stars must learn to warm up
and stretch their bodies properly before gymnastics in order to
prevent injuries. Our instructors use proper spotting techniques
to ensure the safety of your child. Our gymnastics class is for
strength, balance, flexibility, and tumbling only; we do not
have any apparatus such as gymnastics bars, beams or vaults.
We do not use thumb tacks or any other small sharp objects. We
cover all outlets, clean regularly, lock all cupboards, and use
non-toxic paints and glues.
Both studios are equipped with first aid kits, and our
instructors are CPR certified. Parent phone numbers are kept by
the phone for quick and easy access.
